Paper
Products Machines is a reputed Delhi based engineering unit manufacturing, exporting
and supplying sophisticated High-speed Toilet Paper Roll Making Machine, Waxing,
Coating and Water Proof Paper Plant, Paper Napkins with auto folding machine,
Computer Stationary making plants, Fully automatic paper bag making machine,
multi-colour flexographic printing machine, BOPP Tape making machine and all
types of paper conversion machines.
Mr P L Birla founded Paper Products Machines with the objective to serve the
industry with top quality, innovative and higher grade machines. In 1982 the
company introduced Face Tissue Plant with C Type Automatic Folding while a year
later (in 1983) achieved highest precision in micro slitting. During 1984 the
company INVENTED Paper Napkins making machines with automatic Folding
and also Pop-Up Freshness Making Plant in the same year.
"The company enjoys a complete dominance in the Paper Napkin Plants
having a sizable 90% share".
Leadership through Innovation: The company's leadership automatically
established when it was the only company to add a Flexo Printing Unit to the
Imported Paper Napkin Making Plants of Sehgal Papers Ltd " the well-known
SOFT TISSUE KING in India. Thereafter the company continued to keep on adding
much more innovative machines in Toiler Roll Making, Slitting, Rewinding and
Sheeting. It has also made Emery Paper, Emery Cloth Making Plant with "Automatic
Drying System".
Paper Products Machines introduces Outstanding Technological Innovation in
Printing
Mr P L Birla proudly introduces a new technological innovation that is a SUBSTITUTE
for GRAVURE PRINTING, which substantially reduces the printing costs by 98 per
cent. This innovation is a technological revolution in the printing industry
giving unprecedented savings to the industry.
Current process followed: The printing on fabric like bed-sheets, curtains,
bed covers is done by transfer printing process. The process followed is the
Paper Reel is printed in multi-colour by the Gravure printing process. This
printed paper is pressed against the cloth with heat press of huge sizes. The
heat transfer the print on the paper to the cloth. This is called the transfer
printing process. The bed-sheets, bed covers, or curtains thus printed are finally
sold in the market. The people are currently using the Gravure Printing Processes.
The innovation : JOINTLESS WEB OFFSET
The latest innovation by Paper Product Machines is a replacement for gravure
printing process. It provides endless printing with 98% lesser costs.
Cost Comparison: The following is the analysis of the costs involved
in existing process of printing on gravure printing machines as compared to
the invention.
Gravure
Printing Machine Six Colour 62-inch working width & 24-inch repeat
One Design printing needs six cylinders
One Cylinder 62-inch size will cost Rs 20,000/-
For six colour printing you need six cylinders = Rs 120,000/-
But this enables you to print only one kind of design. Practically, you
need to print more than one design.
For 10 designs of size colour you incur an expense of Rs 120,000 x 10
= Rs 12,00,000/-
HENCE THE EXPENSE IS HUGE

Invention
Mr P L Birla has made
This invention needs six Offset Plates
One Offset Plate will cost Rs 300 only
For six colour printing you need six Offset Plates = Rs 1,800/-
But this enables you to print only one kind of design
For 10 designs of size colour you incur an expense of Rs 1,800 x 10 =
Rs 18,000/-
THUS RUNNING EXPENDITURE GOES DOWN BY 98% |
Awards Received:
Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya Award 1986 presented by Hon'ble President
of India
Invention Award 1988 from National Research & Development Corporation
of India
Speaks Mr P L Birla, "The machines manufactured by us are tough, rigid
and properly aligned to give smooth working without vibration for a longer
period and are fitted with reliable electrical equipment". We have invented
India's first fully automatic Paper Napkin Plant with dynamic balance, he
adds.
